Harley and Me

Andrew recently said his missions in life are to ride in an elevator and avoid getting dressed.  He forgot this one: DOGS.  See them, play with them, touch them, whatever.  DOGS.

Roxie, a very nice lady who works with Grandpa Joe and Auntie Ali, and her husband, Mike, were kind enough to invite Andrew over to play with Harley, their pit bull.  Let me get on my dog soapbox and say pit bulls have gotten such a terrible rap due to some criminally irresponsible owners, not due to any inherent meanness in the dogs.  It was all Harley could do not to roll over every 4 seconds for a belly rub.  She was amazingly well trained and well behaved.  She took treats from Andrew only on Andrew's terms.  She didn't eat Andrew's pancake or apples even though he was waving them in her face.  Even when Andrew went into her kennel, put his hand in her food bowl, and THREW HER FOOD ON THE FLOOR, she didn't budge.  Hats off to Roxie and Mike for teaching her to behave so beautifully, and of course to Harley for suffering through a gloating 2-year-old messing with her food.

When you get to the picture of Andrew standing next to the kennel, notice his mouth.  That's his expression du jour and it cracks me up.
