Phone etiquette

Andrew likes to talk on the phone.  It need not be a real phone.  His hand works.  Today, the aluminum foil that wrapped his ham-and-cheese sandwich served the purpose on the way to school.

Andrew: Hello! Who's there? [pause] Hi Mom!

Me: Hi Andrew!

A: No.  It's a different mom.

Me: Okay.

A: Don't say anything at all.

Me: [scared to acknowledge the instruction]

A: How are you? Are you good? [pause] Yes. [pause] Grandpa and Sivi. [pause] Okay bye bye!

He then recounted the conversation for me, since I wasn't privy to Different Mom's side, except he didn't tell me what Different Mom had said but instead just repeated his part.  Then he called Grandpa and Sivi.  He had a different plan for them, which he told me ahead of time.  The plan was followed.

A: Ring! Ring!

A: [waits for them to say 'hi']

G&S: [Hi]

A: [hangs up]
