Elaine has fish!

Off to the right there's a spot where I've noted Andrew's favorite toys and books du jour.  His favorite amusement at the moment is neither a toy nor a book, and it warrants its own post.

Remember this?  (This is the full episode, by the way.)

If you don't want to watch the show, you can read the script.  My favorite line is from George: "I can't carry a pen.  I'm afraid I'll puncture my scrotum."

Besides the brilliance of The Show About Nothing generally, The Parking Garage episode in particuar is great for a two-year-old kid.  Here's why.
  • Consistent backdrop (parking garage with cars).  Easier to focus on people and their behavior.
  • People are holding objects Andrew knows about.  Kramer's holding a box.  It's heavy.  He picks it up and puts it down.  "Na-nu haa dah.  Heddy." ("Kramer has box.  Heavy.")  Elaine's holding a bag of goldfish.  The entire time.  "Nay haa dih."  (Elaine has fish.)
  • Object permanence.  When Kramer's not holding the box, or if we watch a different episode and Elaine doesn't have her fish, boy do I hear about it.  "Nan-nu haa dah??????  Nay haa dih??????"  For like 20 minutes.
  • Jerry gets arrested for peeing in the garage.  By an officer.  Andrew loves officers; he sees them directing traffic at his school.  "Ah dih duh!" That generally leads to Andrew directing traffic for a while.
  • As hope is fading and it's not looking good, Elaine bellows, "JERR-EEEEEEEEEEEE," bending her knees a bit to put all her energy behind her wail.  So does Andrew.  "DEH-DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!"
I've got the episode saved on the DVR, and my sense is it'll be there for a while.

This video, by the way, is awesome.
